Introducing this week's walking partner...
We are very pleased to welcome back the Bob Woodruff Foundation. 13 weeks ago, the BWF leapt on board the Walk Of America as our first walking partner, way back on June 2 when the team stepped off from Dockweiler Beach in Los Angeles, CA. Since then, our intrepid team of veterans have walked over 900 miles across America, raising vital awareness and funds for military mental health. Each team member has suffered with their own mental heath as a result of their service, and thanks to our generous partners like the BWF, they're able to take on this mission knowing that 100% of funds raised will go straight to supporting fellow veterans with their own mental health needs.
“Starting with our support of the Invictus Games in 2014 and the Walk of Britain in 2015, the Bob Woodruff Foundation has worked to build international relationships to empower veterans globally. Collaboration is a key to our success at home, so it made a lot of sense to us to collaborate with the U.K. to support wounded veterans, many of whom fought side by side Americans in Iraq and Afghanistan. We are humbled to be the founding partner of VTAP and plan to continue to identify unmet needs and support both our U.S. and U.K. veterans and their families.” - Anne Marie Dougherty, Executive Director, Bob Woodruff Foundation
